Welcome to Kehillah Academy

An Inclusive, Joyful Jewish Learning Experience

We’re so excited to be entering our second year at Kehillah Academy, the religious school of Congregation Beth Shalom. After a vibrant and meaningful first year—filled with fun, friendship, and, most importantly, deep Jewish learning—we’re ready to grow and welcome even more families into our kehillah (community)!

At Kehillah Academy, we believe that Jewish education should spark curiosity, build strong Jewish identities, and foster lifelong connections—with our traditions, our community, and one another. Through interactive classes, experiential learning, and joyful celebrations, we create a space where every child and family can thrive.

What’s Happening in Year Two?

✡️ Core Religious School Program

Our hands-on curriculum brings Judaism to life through stories, music, art, movement, and meaningful conversation. Students explore Torah, mitzvot, holidays, prayer, and Hebrew in ways that feel personal and relevant.

🕍 Hebrew High

Our post–b’nai mitzvah students dive deeper into Jewish thought, Israel studies, leadership, ethics, and identity in a program designed to meet them where they are—with room for questions, discovery, and connection.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Education Days

Judaism is a family affair! Throughout the year, families come together for shared learning experiences that deepen knowledge and strengthen bonds.

🌅 Family Shabbat

Celebrate Shabbat with your Kehillah family! We’ll gather for select Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat services and Saturday morning Shabbat experiences throughout the year, featuring student participation, music, stories, and a warm community atmosphere.

🌊 Community Days & Mitzvah Projects

We’re taking our learning and values beyond the classroom with hands-on projects like Reverse Tashlich Coastal Cleanup, tikkun olam initiatives, and community engagement opportunities that help our students live their Judaism out loud.

🌟 Early Childhood Programming at CBS & Kehillah Academy

We’re excited to welcome even our youngest learners into the CBS/Kehillah family with fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate Jewish experiences.
