Karen Tashman, FSA, Executive Director

Karen Tashman joined CBS as our Executive Director in 2016. Karen’s extensive background in Jewish communal work includes over 30 years of experience as a Jewish Educator and Executive Director. Prior to joining us at CBS, she served Jewish communities in New York, Georgia and Florida in congregational, summer camp, day school and programming settings. Karen is also active in the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE), the umbrella organization for Executive Directors of Conservative synagogues and has served for many years on its Annual International Conference Committee. Additionally, she is certified as a Fellow in Synagogue Administration. 


Erica Hruby, Director of Youth and Family Education & Programming

Erica Hruby brings with her twenty-five years of experience in the Jewish education and engagement world. She has served in a multitude of organizations within the greater Jewish community, including three youth groups and synagogues in Atlanta and Florida, Hillel at the University of Central Florida, American Hebrew Academy (AHA) in Greensboro, and several national organizations. She holds a BA in psychology and religion from Stetson University and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. Erica and her family reside in Dunedin.


Sarah Stauff, Administrative Assistant

Sarah is the warm and welcoming presence that greets you when you walk in the door or when you call in by telephone.

Sarah handles all front office mailings and information, receives and processes your donation acknowledgements, takes reservations for events, and so much more. Most of all, Sarah wants to make everyone who reaches out to CBS feel as welcome as all of you have made her feel.  


Regina Hickey, Bookkeeping

Regina Hickey became a member of the administrative staff in the summer of 2019.  Previously serving as the bookkeeper in  church settings, she brings to the CBS bookkeeping position her experience in not-for-profit accounting and congregant relations. 


John Samarkas, Facility Manager

John Samarkas brings with him great knowledge and skills in building maintenance and management. John is your contact when submitting setup needs for upcoming events and celebrations. He works hand in hand with the CBS clergy, staff and lay leadership to make sure things are ready to run smoothly.


Barbara Massonne, Kitchen Staff (Queen of the Kitchen)

Barbara Massonne has been an integral member of the CBS staff since May 2007. Barb joyfully cooks, shops and feeds the CBS family throughout the year. Always with a smile and ready to help you!
