Shabbat
Shabbat
Shabbat services at Congregation Beth Shalom are held at 6:30 pm every Friday, and at 9:00 am every Sabbath morning. Our spirit-filled services include a blend of traditional and innovative prayers, drawing upon classic liturgical melodies as well as Hassidic style niggunim. Although the shared text is Siddur Sim Shalom, often the Rabbis infuse the service with alternative modes of prayer, including chanting and the use of silence.
Participation is key! CBS is filled with amazing congregants who participate in service leadership for Shabbat, holidays and weekday morning minyan.
Post-B’nai Mitzvah students are encouraged to read Torah, Haftorah, and Megillah on Purim, a tradition indicative of the importance of youth in our congregation. Children are invited onto the bima to participate in selected prayers. B’nai Mitzvah celebrations are communal events, and often countywide. A full Kiddush luncheon prepared by congregants is enjoyed weekly after services.
Childcare is often provided during services and special events. (currently on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions)
