Flowing Into Freedom: A Pre-Pesach Workshop

As we prepare our homes for Pesach, this gentle workshop invites us to prepare ourselves as well. Rooted in the themes of the holiday—moving from constriction to spaciousness, from holding on to letting go—Flowing Into Freedom offers a mindful way to step out of the narrow places (Mitzrayim) and into the openness of spring.

Aligned with early spring and the Wood element, this Qigong practice emphasizes smooth, steady movement, breath, simple self-massage, and a brief closing meditation. Participants will be guided to release what no longer serves them, feel more grounded and at ease, and enter the holiday with greater clarity and intention.

No prior experience required. All bodies welcome.

Featured Guest Jo Bakal:

Jo Bakal, NBC-HWC, LMT is an integrative wellness coach, educator, and licensed massage therapist with over 30 years of personal practice in Qigong and Tai Chi. Since 2018, she has been teaching Qigong and related mind-body practices, drawing from decades of embodied experience.

Her work weaves together Qigong, Reiki, mindful nourishment, and—when working locally—therapeutic and oncology massage to support whole-person well-being. With a warm, grounded approach, Jo creates compassionate, non-judgmental spaces where caregivers, cancer survivors, and women navigating healthy aging feel supported in making sustainable change.

She has shared her work through workshops, retreats, writing, and media, and is the author of Real Food From My Table to Yours.

Motto: We’re never too old to be bold.
